Those guys
on the Man Show should be dropped into a giant vat of red ants.
"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil,
it multiplies it…Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do
not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate…Returning violence
for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already
devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Words can be very powerful. But words and actions must be combined to
affect change. And that's where hypocrisy comes into play. You talk the
talk, but you don't walk the walk. That's what I say. To myself.
Doesn't it all make my dream of starting a T-shirt company seem so trite?
And so economically unfeasible. Yes, I dream big. We haven't had a meeting
for two weeks because Billy and Rachel were out of town for a while. I
think we're going to keep working on it; I hope because I think it will
be fun. But…things are weird. The job situation is a bit precarious at
the moment. And the job market isn't lookin' too good these days.
Well, let's recall other dreams of mine:
Job in Amsterdam (ideal - Greenpeace or Amnesty International Headquarters!)
Job in Paris or Southern France
Job at Comedy Central for the Daily Show (this made harder by the recent
events - is irony dead?)
Or writing for Cartoon Network.
(call me if you know anyone…)
In Namibia, the Cheetahs are almost gone. In Madagascar, the Lemurs are
almost gone. On Earth, the humans are almost gone. I mean, come on. The
dinosaurs lasted 160 million years. And we've only lasted 40,000 years
and look how much we've already fucked up this planet.
