| 09-16-01 I have two War Stories to discuss today. One is a hot rumor. It's one of those second hand stories, so it's possible that it might be untrue. But it certainly sounds possible. You've seen the footage of the Palestinians cheering when they found out the USA was hit by terrorists. A friend of mine is friends with this professor, we'll call him Professor X. Professor X videotaped all footage during the Gulf War on CNN for his analysis. When he saw the footage of Palestinians cheering, he thought they looked familiar so he went back and looked through the footage he had of the Gulf War. Sure enough, the exact same footage was shown of Palestinians cheering when the U.S. invaded Iraq. Doesn't it seem possible that someone planted that footage just to whip up American anger against Muslims, to encourage the war effort? You think the CIA can't spread disinformation, even to it's own people? On one of the networks, I saw the news commentators reading from a prophecy from Nostradamus about "Twin son" will fall, a great war coming, etc. That same prophecy was bouncing around the Internet, too. Guess what? It's incorrect. Nostradamus didn't write it, but apparently the networks don't feel a need to do much fact checking. The second War Story I wish to discuss is how this terrorist attack is actually the fault of Gays, Lesbians, Abortion Rights Supports and the ACLU. That's according to Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell who declared on national TV (the 700 Club show) that God had protected the US "wonderfully these 225 years" but that God had removed his protection from us. The reason? We threw God out of the schools, had lots of abortions, and have these feminists, pagans, gays and lesbians actively trying to make their lifestyles accepted. All those who have tried to secularize America "helped this happen." Where to start on these assholes? The founding constitution of this country declares legal separation of Church & State and apparently god only just now woke up and went, "Woe! I think I'll have some terrorists kill a bunch of people in a spectacular fashion, and that'll tell everyone I mean business. They'll realize that they've got to stop having all those abortions, and they'll require prayer in schools. Clearly, feminists and gays will have to become sexists and straights. I mean, having some Muslim fanatics crash a bunch of airplanes is a pretty obvious sign that abortion is wrong, isn't it? And having them crash into the World Trade Center…well, it's pretty clear that I'm trying to say that being gay should be illegal, right?" What a couple dumbasses. And people wonder why I'm an atheist. |
