| 11-3-01 I saw an amazing movie tonight. I highly recommend Waking Life. It's an animated film written and directed by Richard Linklater - the same guy who did Slacker and Dazed and Confused. The animation is created over real actors so it has a very surrealistic feeling to it. The entire movie is a philosophical trip and a dream. I don't want to give too much away because it's really worth seeing.. It's deep, very intellectual…perhaps that's a weakness in a way, but it's definitely one that makes you think. Awesome. I heard a story about a woman who buys comic books. She's about 30 years old, and she used to be a realtor. Then she married a guy and moved to New York with him, but he cleaned out their bank accounts and left her with nothing. She got a divorce, but she was broke and moved back to Chicago to live with her Dad. She didn't have enough money to renew her realtor license which expired so now she sells shoes at a department store. That sounds like a pretty sad story. But on the bright side, she's dating a friend of mine. |
